To display true professionalism and a master of trade, Pool Cover Commander even employes the one an only and 1st of its kind in its industry the, <em>"Underwater Stage Scaffold Dive Team. Anybody can assemble a stage on land, but working underwater is a whole new element that the Pool Cover Commander "Underwater Stage Scaffold Dive Team" has mastered. Each dive team member is scuba certified and has been company certified through the USSDT training program that was created by Pool Cover Commander and is only offered through Pool Cover Commander. Rest assured, every client knows that the stage being built over their pool is being assembled by a team who has mastered the art of working underwater.

As we call it our “UWSSDT,” our underwater stage team is the first of its kind. No other company that offers custom pool covers boasts a certified dive team trained to build and work underwater. To join our company dive team, applicants must first be current employees of the parent company, and acceptance into the program is competitive. Once accepted, members undertake a rigorous 4-week certification program that includes physical training, diving certification, and both written and verbal tests. After successfully navigating the first 2 weeks, they spend the final 2 weeks honing their skills in rescue, dive, and job site safety. This portion of training also encompasses how to work and construct underwater structures using various underwater power tools and stage scaffold equipment. Additionally, trainees learn to operate all of our dive team equipment. Our divers utilize the same dive and underwater communication systems employed by Special Ops and Navy Seals, making them highly qualified. While building an on-ground stage is manageable for many, working underwater presents a unique challenge that not everyone can handle—akin to operating in outer space. In some scenarios, divers must construct using tools designed to either sink or float, making this a complex task in an environment that is not suited for everyone. Numerous candidates attempt to join the UWSSDT but often drop out or are unable to pass the tests. It resembles our company’s version of hell week and Seal Training, setting us apart from the competition and ensuring that our dive team members are recognized as the most trained and qualified underwater stage technicians in the world.

Unlike other companies, we offer a variety of custom pool cover surface deck options. Those options include: Plexi glass, various colors and tints of plexi glass, solid glossy colors made with our in-house Commander Marlite, standard black, and earth tone laminate flooring. You can also choose from various combo patterns through our surface deck options, such as a checkered design, a runway down the center of a pool cover, or half/half styles—truly, the combinations are endless.
However, one option we do not offer is carpet or astro turf, and there’s a good reason for this. When you contact us, our underwater stage team will educate you on why these materials aren't the best choice for your custom pool cover installation.
